Midori Clark Hotel and Casino: The ASEAN 2017 Experience | Heads of State Welcome Dinner

Last November 11, 2017, Midori Clark Hotel and Casino once again proved the service and hospitality beyond borders for the ASEAN 2017 Welcome Dinner for Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The event was hosted by the former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. 


Delightedly chosen as the venue for the said welcome dinner gave an inevitable experience for the whole community of Midori Clark. Welcoming and having the notables and luminaries in the world is much pleasure, considering that we are representing the province of Pampanga as the venue for the historic event.

Aside from the Heads of State, the welcome dinner was also attended by the local and national leaders.


Local showbiz power-couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes joined the dinner who were invited by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Heading the service and hospitality beyond borders was the hard working Vic Chan, Midori Clark Hotel’s General Manager. He keeps on reminding everyone that every single detail of the event matters, being the General Manager he started to collide the staff to practice and mandate the duties and responsibilities of each and everyone. As a great leader, he proves that he is a great example of a man of hospitality in action.







The Preparations

Learning from the Defense Ministers’ Welcome Dinner last October 23, 2017. A series of coordination meeting was held in order to address the minimal concerns during the previous event. Every single detailed was planned, for the pre up to the post-event. 



Getting in touch with the suppliers, security, partners and national organizing committee. Receiving an exemplary rating from the last Defense Ministers’ Welcome Dinner challenge the team to work and provide a remarkable service for the historic event.

For a couple of weeks, the Midori Clark Hotel waiter and waitress had an extensive review of the banquet service, rehearsals for the parade of waiter and an illustration of the service to be rendered.


The grandiose Festa Hall was minimally transformed to fit the theme of the event, cutleries were installed, red carpet was mounted from the lobby up to the hall and signage and standees were up for a complete ASEAN 2017 vibes.




Filipino Specialties by Chef Marcos Dungca

Midori Clark Hotel and Casino Executive Chef, Marcos Dungca prepared the foods served during the Heads of State Welcome Dinner. Highlighting the Filipino cuisine, part of the menu for the appetizer is the Hipon sa Tanglad, Mango and Pako for salad, Suam na Mais at Halaan for the soup, Isda sa gata as the main course and a trio of local dessert were also served.


Hospitality and Service not only beyond borders but limits

After the ASEAN 2017, Midori Clark Hotel and Casino is looking forward to more milestones. Being part of the national and international events plays a vivacious and definitely dynamic role for every Midori staff. It is proven that Midori Clark Hotel and Casino doesn’t settle for the norms but goes beyond.
